3/18/2023 0 Comments War thunder vs world of warships![]() Now, this could be the supposed test they did on guided missiles, or it could be that because the console version likely had started development around this time, they had something that could be used. In another video, it is mentioned that the WoWs console team is not far from the PC team in the building.Ĭan't remember if the same or different video but one in which one of them is wrapping, which caused it's own stir for kicking some of us players while we were down over these changes - they mention they had stuff for the rework "lying around" to use. Which, understandably, angers players who pay for things in this game because it is supposed to be a released and stable game, and it is generous to say that it's basically back in beta. And I can tell you in the last 3 weeks or so I have seen more drastic changes than I ever saw in Alpha testing. While delayed a week, it did not help much. Even with their CC's turning on them and against it. Many of whom did not due to issues with gameplay balance or fun.Īlso in that same vein is that they knew this would be unbalanced, and were determined to release it by end of last year, first 2 weeks of this year. The best they can manage, while manipulating the numbers, is a 38% approval rating, with the rest at best on the fence, some leaning on against because of things we the players said to change and they said no - this is after removing 16% of players who didn't make it to 10 games played during the 3rd round of beta. They release yet another video, trying to spin and up sell the rework. Some things they won't budge on changing, like ability to control the ship while planes are up at all even if it's very basic, also seem to fit with a difficulty to implement it to a controller as easy as a keyboard and mouse. Some, like myself, tested anyway, however it does become hard to tell if this was poor planning, or sabotage - as they used it as an excuse to say "we have to put it on the live server" and seem to ignore feedback given that of course, when it hit live, was found to be an issue as they were told weeks and months in advance. They ran the Beta at the worst possible time, as well as the PTS, due to major ingame live server events. This one after so long silent and top secret bypasses every single thing usually meant to judge player interest and build hype for it, gather feedback and data, etc, without damaging the game itself by just dropping it in to PvP as the main thing. Things like Sub's, localized weather effects, limited traverse/fixed torpedoes, list goes on. Also adding fuel to the flames is the timeline - they wanted to launch it in December by the end - around the same time as the Console games closed beta.įrom what I hear the console games tend to have reduced tech trees and the butchering they did fits that model perfectly.Įvery other major gameplay change or potential one/addition was tested in side events - April Fool's, Halloween, you name it. And not hard to note the fact that while there are more than enough buttons and combinations to run RTS CV's on a console - which a version was recently announced for, this gameplay far more easily fits on a controller and is far simpler. Said gameplay, and other changes are very drastic, and certain things said do not jive with actions. Which is came across as a rushed spin/damage control stream showing it because supposedly info was about to leak (they admitted on screen that they were waiting on the footage and had not seen it themselves and all - something that should not happen with a actual planned event) Then, suddenly we hear something real - after the announcement for consoles. But to explain where it's coming from if no actual source -įor years they promised to fix RTS, and failed through making all the wrong changes, but kept saying they'd do it till they went dead silent for about a year. Where the whole thing started is unknown, however Wargaming has not really helped put those fires out with their actions. That said the "Beta test" accusations are specifically over CV gameplay. ![]() Games are ported between platforms all the time, and certain gaps have closed and changes have been made easier that consoles and PC's are far more similar. Or is it just a bunch of baseless assumptions by players who only have experience with the PC version? What are the differences between the 2 versions, and and there enough similarities to make these beta test for console accusations true? Given that there are a lot of accusations that the PC version is now a beta test for console left me to wonder.
